Practical HR Planning Resources

See the process behind clearer ownership, useful workforce measures, and a better project brief.

Understand the work before you commission it

These short planning examples show how Holt approaches workforce ownership and measurement. They are illustrative, contain no client records, and do not replace employer-specific policies, legal review, system configuration, or a complete implementation toolkit.

Example: new-hire readiness handoff

CheckpointIllustrative ownerEvidence to review

Records and orientationHR coordinatorAgreed items complete or exceptions identified
Role readinessOperations or appropriate specialistRequired training and role-specific approvals confirmed
First-week follow-upSupervisorEmployee questions and unresolved handoffs reviewed

Example: attendance event definitions

Illustrative data: 3 call-ins affect 100 scheduled shifts. The shift-event rate is 3%. It does not mean that 3% of employees were absent. Decide how you treat consecutive missed shifts, schedule changes, and duplicate notifications before comparing results.

Example: 3.00% of scheduled shifts.

Use aggregate counts only. This browser-only example sends no entries to Holt. It measures events, not protected-leave eligibility or disciplinary consequences.

Example: workforce decision ownership

Plan your next HR project

Bring a description of the problem, workforce and locations, current owner, available records, desired result, and decision deadline. Leave employee names and sensitive records out of the initial inquiry. We will agree on an appropriate channel if records are needed.

Download a short project-planning worksheet (CSV)

The worksheet is a discovery aid. A paid engagement adds organization-specific diagnosis, finished documents or systems, implementation guidance, and agreed review.

Choose a practical starting point

Start with a free introductory conversation. When the need is clear, request a focused project. When several systems need diagnosis, the $1,500 HR and Workforce Infrastructure Assessment can establish priorities. Your written proposal confirms deliverables, participating locations, timing, responsibilities, revisions, and fees.
